Tuition/Teaching Experience
I believe in building up my students' self-esteem. I believe that once you believe in yourself, the learning will follow in every area of their lives. I am a Piano Grade 8 graduate who is furthering her music education. I have previously taught music in schools and also as a private teacher. In the past, i had also performed as a keyboardist in several bands. I see music as an extension to oneself, an outlet for students to be more expressive.

I also conduct English and English literature classes. With my music background, I have come to see both these subjects as an art form and not just a hard subject and this view definitely shapes understanding and make learning more enjoyable and interesting.

Overall, I believe in building confidence so my students excel in all areas of life.

Commitment / Other Details
I can start immediately and can commit to a long term tuition assignments.
Rapport Building
I usually work on listening to students, finding out their interests and building their self-esteem. Where possible especially for home assignments where parents are around, I usually tell the parents what I covered during the lesson and for parents who are able to check on the students' practices, I let them know what to look out for so they feel included in the child's growth and also so that they would know that their children are making progress.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I regularly check the ABRSM website to check on updates and have a circle of piano teachers that I regularly hold conference with to keep updated.
As a Good Tutor
I think a good tutor should have a good listening ear and should be able to encourage, motivate their students. They should be patient enough to constantly seek new ways to revamp their lessons especially for students who have difficulty in understanding.
