Commitment / Other Details
Able to hold classes in my house on the weekends between 10:30 am and 3pm. I am willing to teach after 7pm on weekdays
Rapport Building
I usually build rapport with my students by asking them questions about themselves that are not necessarily studies-related. This way I hope to help them loosen up and get rid of any nervousness they may have during the classes. With parents, I build a rapport by asking them about their child's strengths followed by their weaknesses. Students are often weak in certain subject areas, but focusing on their strengths will always boost their confidence and make them more motivated to improve on the areas that need help.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I am constantly searching up latest changes in syllabuses before I commit to teaching a new pupil. Moreover, I try to look out for good assessment books and exam papers to discover the trends in the way questions are formulated.
As a Good Tutor
While teaching as a Creative writing teacher, I learnt the various methods in getting the students to experiment with various writing techniques. By the end of the year, I realised the benefits of inculcating creativity in writing for children from a young age. Not only does it improve their compositions, it also builds on their communication skills and boosts their confidence.

In Mathematics, I strongly believe that in order for a child to do well in Mathematics they must start enjoying the subject. Many students hate Mathematics and as a teacher, I have always tried using fun methods in helping them enjoy Mathematics and realize how easy the subject is. This includes teaching them various ways in which the same answer is derived and encouraging them to use methods that best suit them.
