Rapport Building: I have recently graduated from JC and in my spare time, I give mathematics tuition to secondary school children. I have been giving math tuition for over a year now, mainly to secondary 3 and 4 'O' level students. I have also given science and mathematics tuition to Primary 4 to Primary 6 children at Frontier Library. As a tutor, I prefer to spend more time helping students understand the math concepts first before tackling questions. I feel that it is important for students to be able to understand the concepts before answering questions as it helps them to be flexible and be able to tackle all types of questions. My method of doing so is by looking at their school assignments to get an idea of how much the student understands the topic as well as their strengths and weaknesses. From there on, I will revise with the students on parts of the topic they are weaker on. As a tutor, I also like to spend time talking to students about any general studying tips or advice about school.

Keeping Up with Curriculum: By having a few tutees, I can check with them on their current curriculum. Also, I make sure that I refer to the latest textbooks and keep myself updated with the curriculum.

As a Good Tutor: A good tutor ensures that the students studies efficiently and effectively. This is done so by getting an understanding of the topics and knowing how to tackle questions well.

Students can get a strong understanding of the subject by spending time to get the correct concepts. By knowing how to tackle questions, a student knows how to correctly approach a particular question and now waste time and effort.
