Tuition/Teaching Experience
I've been tutoring secondary, and primary students for about 5 years now. I started doing peer tuition when I was 16, and moved on to part time tutoring after my secondary education. I'm patient, and willing to go the extra mile for my students. My students have described me as personable, and I believe that, that is key in creating a conducive environment for learning. My teaching methodologies will prepare my students for higher education, and also teach them to be independent learners.
I have experience in group tuition as well. My most recent group was a pair of secondary 4 students.

Rapport Building
When teaching younger students it is important to provide incentives in order to "push" them to strive for he best. I believe that the first tuition session matters the most for rapport building. I always introduce myself to the parents, and the student; spend at least 15 minutes to get to know the student. I will proceed to explain how I'm going to help the student, and start on goal setting.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I am familiar with the current curriculum, and I always spend time prepping for the tuition lesson. Seeking feedback from your students is important as well. You have to keep track of their progress in school, and also any changes in the syllabi.
As a Good Tutor
I reckon that good tutors have to be patient, dedicated, and willing to commit time on helping the student. They have to be flexible on their style of teaching, personalizing it to suit the student. They have to find new ways to keep the student engaged in what they are learning.
Tutors should also constantly seek feedback, and tweak themselves accordingly.
