Tuition/Teaching Experience
I have 15 years teaching experience in Primary Schools.
I have tutoring experience of 20 years which is inclusive of the my duration prior to my entry to the teaching service. As a tutor, I have gone some miles extra to ensure that my tutees exposed to a variety of assessment materials of varying difficulties. In addition to the use of assessment papers and books, I believe pupils have to be engaged with authentic learning resources such as newspaper articles and visual aids which provide better graphic stimulus.
Of course all these must and actually has contributed to the marked improvement of subject grades.
Registered with MOE as school trainer from
22 Dec 2014 to 21 Dec 2016.

Commitment / Other Details
My regular attendance and punctuality are vital for students to have a stable and predictable routine.
I regularly check with my students about their performance in school, apart from their homework assignments.
Rapport Building
My focus is teaching my student rather then the subject alone. That calls for taking some time to understand my students learning needs, strengths and limitations, in addition to concerns of parents or caregivers. It is important to develop trust with tutees, yet maintain a professional distance for effective teaching and learning to take place.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I keep myself updated with curricualr revamps and new teaching strategies via regular interaction with others in the teaching/ tutoring fraternity.
