Commitment / Other Details
I am currently a pharmaceutical science undergraduate, therefore having lectures during the day on weekdays but the rest of the time would be used making notes for students and making question papers.
Rapport Building
I used to have difficulty getting higher grades when I was in my secondary school. I only knew the problem when I was in my junior college where the understanding of the theories in subject are always the first step. Then the building of understanding would be through practice. Therefore I decided to be a part time tutor to help students study.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would always have the SEAB syllabus with me when I make notes or plan the tuition session. It's the base line of what the student need to know for the exams. Only after the students are able to achieve that base line, I would input the other guide lines from other schools and all by doing their exam papers in their prelims or finals.
As a Good Tutor
I would prefer the student to treat me more like a older peer to them, so that I can understand their train of thoughts when they study and also it allows them to open up to me about the problems they encounter in their studies.
I would always provide my number to them and be available to answer questions. All my students would have a notebook per subject to write in key theories and also various questions to that they can have revision notes all in one book before the exams. As I believe that being understanding and dedicated to the profession, would one become a good tutor.
