With Covid-19 here to stay, we all have no choice but to adapt and get used to a new way of living. After all, change is the only constant. At Ace Tutors, we understand the struggle that you could potentially face when it comes to conducting or getting your kid to attend tuition classes during this period. That’s why we’ve put together a quick guide for Zoom and Google Meet for all you parents and tutors out there!

For those who don’t already know, Zoom and Google Meet are web conferencing platforms that can be used to host virtual tuition classes via live video.

Zoom is generally the top choice for people who are teaching classes as it works with all major browsers and devices. However, those who prefer to have reminders about upcoming video calls, Google Meet would be better for you as those would be added to Google Calendar as an event. Google Meet runs on the following browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.

How to Download Zoom

Before starting your first Zoom meeting, download the Zoom app on either your laptop or smartphone. You can find the “download” button under “Zoom Clients for Meetings” on the website.

When you begin your first Zoom meeting, the app would automatically download. However, you must proceed with installing Zoom on your laptop once the download is complete.

How to Download Google Meet

If you’re planning to use Google Meet, you can start a meeting or join a meeting by launching it from a web browser on your laptop or desktop – without having to download any additional software.

However, if you’re planning to use your phone, you must first download the Google Meet mobile app. You will then have to sign in using your existing Google account. In the event you don’t have one, you’ll be prompted to sign up before you start.
