I keep parents updated on the progress of their children, if they so request, as some parents are hands-off. With students, I try to check in on them regularly regarding their progress on work that I've assigned and how they're handling school. Good rapport starts with taking a sincere interest in the wellbeing of the student.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I do independent research and will check in with my students to see how their school is planning on tackling syllabus and plan accordingly.
As a Good Tutor
I started as a volunteer tutor for various subjects (English, Global Politics, Mathematics) in my JC, an international boarding school where a majority of students did not have English as a native language and hence required a lot of patience and simplified instruction. In addition to standard coaching through of practice questions/homework, I also offered in-depth interview and essay guidance. My coaching has been described as thorough and detailed. A student of mine once told me that they learnt more in their first month with me than they'd ever picked up from any other teacher.

I am currently studying in a junior college so i am pretty fresh with all the curriculum. Furthermore, my goal is not to just let your child past or get an A. With my help, i could teach how your child could become an overachiever.
            As a Good Tutor
            I believe a Good Tutor should have knowledge of subjects, not just solely of the curriculum, but outside of it. With knowledge of just the curriculum, there is no way for the tutor to break it down for the students to understand. I, on the otherhand, have extensive knowledge especially in the field of mathematics and physics. Another traits i think good tutor should have is open mindedness. Different students will prefer different ways of thinking and hence,solving a problem. A Good Tutor should improves a student's way of thinking rather than force their way of thinking onto a student.
