Commitment / Other Details
I can commit 1 whole year to May 2021 as my undergraduate studies start then. I am open to any time for tuition for the weekdays from July onwards. On Saturdays after 1pm and Sunday after 3pm.
Rapport Building
I have 3 younger siblings (aged 16, 12 and 10) and I have experience tutoring them for their syllabus. I also have experience talking to my siblings' friends and their parents :)
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have many up-to-date assessment books that my siblings use, and also, I'm always listening in onto MOE's latest syllabus updates to better help my siblings. I am also constantly in touch with my teachers in my previous schools so as to know how they are copying.
As a Good Tutor
The basic qualities are definitely firstly, having sufficient and correct knowledge. The last thing we want is to teach the wrong item. Secondly, it is building rapport with the students. Most of the times, students are reluctant to go for tuition, because it may be boring and repetitive. By establishing a personal connection with the students, they will be more open and receptive to conversing with you, which helps in absorbing information. Lastly, to always check-in on the students' progress and adapt to different learning styles. Different students absorb information differently, and it is pivotal to understand how the students' learn and tutors should be able to adopt different learning methods. :)
