Commitment / Other Details
Prefers one-to-one/no more than 2 group tuition in order to really understand the tutee and devote my focus within the short 1.5-2 hours. Availability is negotiable.
Rapport Building
With 6 years of experience as a leader in my CCA, I have the organizational skills in working closely with parents and helping my tutee plan out his/her academic workload as well as take into consideration of his/her mental well-being. I believe in learning from the heart, which is why I advocate for compassionate teaching even during my school days when I help my fellow friends in their academic works.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Living in an era of internet technology, I am one click away from keeping myself updated with the new curriculum that my tutee may be studying. As someone who has just graduated, it will also not be an issue for me to retain my knowledge from my studies. I also believe that my higher studies in mathematics and science have heightened my appreciation for these subjects so much so that I can break it down to simpler bite-size information when tutoring, to precisely address what is within the curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
Listening- I understand that academic struggles are symptoms, it is hence important for me to find out the root cause before truly being able to quantify and address the issue.
Responsible- This means beyond the short 1.5-2h, it is good that tutors can extend their outside hours to assure tutees that they will not be alone in this academic journey.
Energetic- I believe this creates a positive spillover effect in enhancing the mood and the dynamics of the teaching environment.
Sharp - To quickly rectify any mistakes that the tutee may make and ensure that they adopt the correct method.
