Tuition/Teaching Experience
Prior to being a full-time teacher with MOE, I was a private tutor during my undergraduate years. My experience with MOE has developed the skillset to engage students of various profiles.
I am able to commit on most weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as on Saturday mornings. I am also available for both online and offline lessons.
Rapport Building
I would appreciate if parents / caregivers are able to observe the first few lessons to determine if the level of engagement I have with their child / ward is suitable and effective for learning. I do also utilise 'low-stakes, high-frequency' informal chat sessions to build a connection with the student before starting lessons proper.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Being MOE-certified, I understand the nuances the curriculum, and do keep in touch with colleagues to process the changes to the syllabus and curriculum.
As a Good Tutor
Tutors form the bridge to plug the gaps with what is being taught in school and what the student takes away from these lessons. As such, I seek to concretise the skillsets that should be attained in school, and value-add to the learning takeaways.
