Hi! I'm new to the tutoring scene, but I'm passionate about English and Literature and it would be my pleasure to help students better articulate their thoughts in essays and comprehension questions.
I'm able to start pretty much immediately, and I'll be around for the next couple months, but I'm sure we can work out the finer details if you have any questions :)
Rapport Building
Getting to know my student is important; beyond their strengths and weaknesses, their personalities matter too. Their hopes and dreams, any mental barriers that they might be grappling with that's impeding them. Parental insights are valuable too, since they know their kids best, so really rapport building is all about keeping both parties' best interests in heart and making sure their concerns are both acknowledged.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I keep up to date using revision books in Popular outlets -- that way I know what essays and comprehension questions expect of current students. The rest, I believe, is up to personal practice (since English is less about cramming than it is practice, understanding, and experimentation.)
