Course Description:
In the PSLE, the deciding factor that determines whether a pupil scores an A* or an A is the writing component. Writing is a complex skill that requires cognitive abilities like analysing, synthesising and evaluating. PSLE English Paper 1 assesses all the basic language and linguistic skills learnt by the pupils during the course of one's 6 years of Primary school education. As writing is a skill that takes time to nurture, the best time is to start from as early as Primary 3 to P6 PSLE. A variety of fictional and non-fictional text types will be provided to expose pupils to the various techniques and styles of various writers and contexts.
