In order to keep up with the curriculum, I have subscribed to online learning which is according to MOE syllabus. Besides that, I have bought books from tuition centres to keep myself abreast of what I am teaching and always give the right information to my students during the lessons.

AS a good tutor, is to adjust teaching methods according to the learning needs and styles of the students. To understand their way of learning and teach them accordingly. Besides that, patience is the key to slowly steer them to fall in love in their weak subject and to keep their stress at bay.

      As a Good Tutor
      Learning is easiest when there is interest. I always try to give meaning to the content being learnt to give the student the best chances of being interested in what is being taught. Where the student shows interest, I try to go a little beyond the syllabus in hopes of promoting love for the subject as a whole.

      If the student enjoys the process, results achieved are far more likely to be sustainable as the student will not feel the urge to stop after passing one test or exam.

            I am both strict and patient. That being said, I do not & will not shout, scold the child/ student at any point in time should there be any misconduct. Will consult parents regarding any matters regarding the child before making an informed decision. As not all students have the same learning capability, I will tailor-suit the lessons to better fit the learning ability of the student.

                    Aside from keeping up with the current textbooks and workbooks, I also look at assessment books to keep myself in touch with what is expected of the syllabus.

                    I think that the basic qualities of a good tutor is that she/he is able to communicate comfortably with the student so that the student does not feel uncomfortable or nervous to ask any questions and clarify doubts. Tutors should also be able to see if the student is able to keep up with their teaching style and try to ensure that their teaching style adapts to meet the learning style of the students as well.
