Rapport Building: Since becoming a trained teacher, I have taught Mathematics and Science to a mixture of students of different abilities and levels ranging from P1 to P6. I do not just focus on results, but in the confidence that my students have towards the subjects as well. I take pride in mix and matching my approach with students to find what works best for them (ie. using positive reinforcements when teaching, discipline and routines, bite-size practices.)

Keeping Up with Curriculum: I am a current teacher and I keep up to date with the curriculum through my daily teaching and courses that I attend.

As a Good Tutor: I believe that practice is something that is crucial and as such I can customise with parents the way they would like for the tuition to go. I can either teach new concepts and skills ahead or alongside what students are learning in school, or I can also do revision to revisit weaker topics and skills that students faced in the past that are still causing them more confusion.
I can work with resources/books/papers that parents have already bought, or I can recommend materials that I would use for lessons with the students.
I build a good rapport with my students so that they know that they can come to me to seek help and never be afraid to ask questions.

Commitment / Other Details: Although I once considered joining MOE, I realised that I could make a better impact through smaller class sizes and customized learning in private education.

Rapport Building: I have experience teaching P2 all the way to Sec 4 levels, including preparing them for both PSLE and O levels. Imparting knowledge and seeing my students develop and improve really gives me a sense of purpose and passion!

Keeping Up with Curriculum: Quality materials provided in line with MOE syllabus. I usually start a new topic by doing a quick concept revision, followed by a demonstration of how to answer several questions. I then let students attempt a topical exercise, before collecting the papers for marking and going through the questions (especially those with common mistakes) the next lesson.

As a Good Tutor: Most of my students improved by at least 1-2 grades after joining me for a few months, with some making much more dramatic improvement (e.g. from 25/100 to B+ in PSLE) after being with me for a year. Try me and be prepared to see real results!
