    I am a patient teacher who incorporates whole-brain teaching strategies to ensure that my pupils can understand the concepts clearly.
    For science, I incorporate strategies such as concept mapping, flash cards, charts into the teaching and learning.
    My focus for tuition lessons will not be in merely giving pupils answers or assisting them in the completion of their school work. There will be teaching that will be supplemented with drill and practice questions that are prepared by me.
    For my first 2 sessions, I will spend the time revising on topics and before the teaching of each topic; I will provide my pupil with a pre-test to assess the child's readiness. This ensures that I am aware of the child's strengths and weaknesses. I prefer preparing my own worksheets for the pupils.

      A tutor who prefers to not give additional homework to students, and lessons will be focused on teaching concepts and clarifying students' questions to enhance their grasp and understanding. However if the student is ready or additional homework is required, I would use workbooks and practices for the student. I prefer to mainly use work given by students' teachers as learning and practice opportunities, and teaching sessions will be a 2-way dialogue to ensure student is able to explain back the concepts + answers. Once fundamentals have been strengthened, lessons will then be focused on doing additional practices. Past students have found classes engaging and interesting, and each class is tailor-made to suit the individual needs of the student. Apart from my teaching style, I am also happy to cater to the parents' concerns and needs to suit what they feel is best and prefer for their child. Feedback is more than welcome.
      Keeping Up with Curriculum
      The school syllabus is available online and easily accessible, hence the learning objectives of the syllabus is used as a benchmark to keep up with the curriculum. Also, I would be able to tap on my network of peers and past teachers for advice regarding current curriculum and syllabus.
      As a Good Tutor
      The best tutors are able to customize and suit the student to bring the best out of them. Different students may need to be taught differently and I would try my best to identify this as early as possible. In getting the student engaged, interested and motivated, the student would be able to absorb more efficiently and perform better.

        Each students have their own characters .Therefore to be able to communicate well with them, I have to observe from the teaching and will see what i can do from that point . To communicate well with the students,trust and faith in them is very important towards their studies. This can build their self-esteem and excel in school. Tutor and parents can have a short 5-10 mins talk on how to improve their children studies and etc. I believe attending enrichment courses at a young age can help them to think far in the future and also studies.
        Keeping Up with Curriculum
        I will at least check their timetables at least once a week, if they have a certain test or quiz on the week, i will focus and stress on the subject .
        As a Good Tutor
        As a tutor, i believe patience,trust and confidence plays an important role in the student's studies. I have the patience to teach them slowly, if they don't understand, i can use other methods to teach them.Trust in them give them higher self-esteem and they can do better. Giving them the confidence i had in them, they will not let the tutor down and continue to excel. Some students tend to have a pessimistic mindset, which leads to poor results. As for me, i encourage students to do better and think of the bright side.
