Rapport Building
Besides teaching content and skills, I also believe in getting the tutee to understand concepts and build confidence in answering and understanding.

I also believe in supportive parents who will help their children. For my own part, I will be willing to give consistent updates with parents on the progress of the child, and how they can help ensure their child does well to practice in order to score for their exams, and perform well for their assignments.

I also believe in making lessons fun, interactive, and interesting, whilst having some lessons drilling on skills and concepts, and others weaving them in in fun ways to introduce them to the tutee. They will hence be engaged, and find interest in the subject.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I've kept my old textbooks to ensure that my content is still fresh, but I've also ensured that I read up the latest syllabus and textbooks to see what new features and trends and content the syllabus is expecting of students.

More than just knowing content of the syllabus, I believe having a wide knowledge of current affairs and general knowledge will help to give better insights and examples to the tutees. These will be helpful to deepen their knowledge, whilst giving them an edge over other students with fresh and more examples at their fingertips.
As a Good Tutor
I believe that trust and belief from a tutor in a student is critical. If the tutor doesn't believe the student can do it, how will the student be able to believe he/she can ace the exams and subject?

While content and getting grades are important, I also believe that to get there, trust and faith in the student is vital to get him/her to be confident and believe and aim realistically.

Other than that, I also believe in patience with the student. I will lend a listening ear and encourage students to question in order to learn and understand. When they ask, they show they're keen to learn. It is my role as a tutor to then answer and be patient with their needs and concerns, and also their progress. Good grades take time to build, and it is with that mindset will I approach my sessions with the tutee.
