Commitment / Other Details
Currently serving NS so only free during the weekends. Thus there might be sudden changes to plans because there I might have extra duties on weekends.
Rapport Building
It is important to be friendly and easygoing so that it is easier to strike up conversations with my students and parents. Building up a good relationship signals mutual trust and this bodes well for my teaching. My age gap between students is not that huge so I can still relate well to my students.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I have just graduated from Junior College so I am still well-acquainted with the syllabus. I know which are the key areas to look out for and which are the more common mistakes that students make. I always make sure I refer to the syllabus outline before I teach so that whatever I teach will be relevant to the student. If need be, I still have my past notes with me so I could use it to guide my teaching.
As a Good Tutor
I have to be well-read on the subject before I even teach my students so that any doubts raised by the students can be clarified by me in the best possible manner. He also must be patient and understanding because students might not able to understand concepts fast. The motivation to keep trying different methods to explain a concept must be present. Lastly, he should have a deep love for the subject so that he can excite the student and motivate him to put more effort into the subject. Optionally, making him love the subject and encouraging him to read beyond the syllabus would be best because learning never stops.
