Rapport Building
I am a friendly person and love interacting with students. Thus it is easy for me to work well and build a rapport with students, which will help me understand the difficulties they are facing in the subject even better. I would spend some time interacting with students during each lesson for a short while to understand what their teachers are currently covering in school, and also see their topical tests or assignments to see how they are coping. At the end of each lesson, I would also make it a point to explain to the parents what I have covered for that lesson in general and what I plan to do to help the student in future lessons.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
As an A Level and O Level graduate in a MOE school, I am aware of the syllabus and always keep myself updated with any newest changes to the syllabus. This can be done by reading up on the newest syllabus changes on a weekly basis. Also, my experience with the MOE syllabus also allows me to better tweak my teaching methods to fit the learning style of the student.
As a Good Tutor
I am committed and dedicated. I will do my best to help the student and follow through with them at least to the end of the academic year. Also, I am patient. Even for students who may be more rowdy or unable to keep up as well, I will explain the concepts until they understand. I am also responsible. As such, I will spend some time before each lesson to prepare the notes and resources needed for the lesson. At the end of the lesson, I will also consolidate whatever I have covered and do some refresher for the next lesson if necessary. I believe that as a good tutor, it is extremely important to be responsible, committed and patient.
