I have 3 years of part-time tutoring experience at the primary and lower secondary level. I am able to explain difficult concepts in simpler terms for students to understand.
I am able to start immediately and can commit for the child's entire academic year.
Rapport Building
I usually introduce topics of interest in between lessons to build rapport and adapt my humour to suit theirs. This hopes to create a comfortable environment for them to ask questions and clarify their doubts.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
I would look at the child's textbooks as well as browse assessments/assignments from assessment books/ past year papers.
As a Good Tutor
I think the basic qualities of a good tutor are as simple as patience and empathy. Each child learns differently, so careful attention is needed to adapt manners of teaching to the child. Complicated concepts are understood not because of a child's intelligence, rather the way that the subject/topic is communicated.
