Tuition/Teaching Experience
I was in the MOE Teaching Internship Training Programme in 2010. I attended the MOE training course and was subsequently posted to Hwa Chong Institution where I taught secondary three literature under their humanities and gifted education programme. I was later offered a place in the NIE training programme training to become a teacher under the MOE. However, I declined their generous offer as I have graduate study commitments. At the University of Melbourne I also completed a breadth sequence in Education under the arts degree. The breadth subjects I studied focuses on maximising student learning abilities, specialised arts education, and teaching youth. I graduated with first class honours in philosophy and am interested in tutoring literature, english, philosophy, KI and creative writing

Commitment / Other Details
I am currently waiting to start graduate school at NUS (phD in pure philosophy). The course is due to start in August 2013. I am able to start tutoring immediately. I have consulted with the professors at NUS and the contact hours for the phD programme are not very demanding. As such I am looking to continue tutoring throughout my phD course, for at least the next 4 years. I would prefer long term tutoring commitments because I strongly believe that in order to master arts and humanities subjects, which involves the sharpening of a skill set (as compared to being knowledge based like science subjects), "crash course" courses are not effective.
