    Commitment / Other Details
I am able to start anytime as I have just graduated from my Junior College and completed my Alevel journey. I am happy to receive any students and to help them with their academic journey.
    Rapport Building
I am active in engaging the students in the learning process and to help them grow a love for their subjects to not just achieve academic excellence but to enjoy the process of learning. I am also active in ensuring to keep the parents involved in their child's progress to ensure their peace of mind that their child receives nothing but the best to achieve academic success. I will usually send a feedback detailing their session to both the child and the parents monthly to update them on the progress of their learning. I am happy to be there 24/7 to answer the child's questions in their homework and provide my help to them when they so need it. When given a task at hand, I am not only dedicated and will do my best to prepare the child as if I am the student taking the examination as I completely understand the rigour and stress examinations bring having just finished my examinations so recently. I will make sure that the child realises that their preparation for the exams though daunting is not a lonely journey as I will happily be there to help them through it.
    Keeping Up with Curriculum
Having just finished my examinations I am most updated about the schooling process and the key components that are tested. Having two younger siblings of my own who are also in the lower primary and upper secondary respectively, I am well aware of their curriculum and is often able to help them through their academic difficulties. Therefore, allowing myself to be well versed in the curriculum taught in school and is best prepared in helping your child through it too.
    As a Good Tutor
Through my academic years, I too had my fair share of good tutors all of which I have noted down the reasons for their effective support they have provided. A good tutor hence entails patience in helping the student go past the mental block in doing well in a subject. A good tutor is also adaptable and is able to cater to their students learning styles and needs. A good tutor must also be knowledgable and dedicated to ensure that their student receives nothing but the best under their care. Lastly, a good tutor should be encouraging and motivate the student to want to take interest in their subjects and develop a passion for their learning process and to actively participate.

I prefer to provide topical revisions at a time as opposed to revision of the entire syllabus in one lesson as I believe students have to develop a strong foundation to consistently score.
          Rapport Building
Rapport comes with trust from both parties, its only when parents and tutors start to see improvements in the student's work can the tutor prove that he/she is reliable to provide necessary aid. Tutors should understand the student's main concerns with their work and address those obstacles directly.
          Keeping Up with Curriculum
After ORD-ing from NS I started revising on my A Level topics slowly everyday to regain my academic footing in preparation for part time tutoring, as well as University next year. Roughly 2-4 hours a day is spent on my expertise back in JC (Maths/Science, which I will be mainly teaching). Sure it is definitely daunting to relearn an entire 2 years worth of syallabi, maybe even impossible. One of my workaround is to read up on specific chapters depending on the student's agenda for every lesson so I can target those topics prior to the lesson to better prepare myself. In addition I will be using my personalised notes and sharing it with the student as I inputted tips and strategies not mentioned during my tenure in JC.
          As a Good Tutor
Some basic qualities include understanding of your student's issue, patience, and prioritisation of subjects/topics. A tutor should be able to identify the root cause of the student's problem and directly address it, as mentioned earlier. He/She has to guide the student back to their fundamentals if necessary to polish up on their basic skills (simple differentiation, algebra, etc) before being able to tackle higher order thinking topics (Applications of differentiation, vectors in 3d, etc) and from there on continue to refine the student's knowledge and competencies. With understanding the student also comes patience, and its a quintessential trait of a tutor simply because some students have a slower learning pace that which any tutor cannot predict prior to their first lesson. A good tutor has to adapt on the ground and proceed at a slow pace during the first few lessons to better understand the student's learning curve and help him/her journey through their problems and resolve it together. If it happens that the student still lack the ability to comprehend a concept, the tutor should maintain his/her composure and find ways to help the student better grasp the concept. Lastly on the topic of prioritisation, not all students would be able to equally excel in chapters for a subject at the end of the day. Some students would have a multitude of topics in which they lack knowledge of, and certain topics are bound to be more frequent in examinations. A good tutor should be able to identify which are the commonplace topics and ensure that his/her student is competent at, so as to maximise the student's score/grade in their future exams. In a last-minute scenario, the tutor should help work on the student's weakest topic before others to better elevate the student's score as much as possible.

Normally, I start off the lesson spending 5 mins just talking to the student in the form of an informal chit chat. At the end of the lesson, I will also spend time talking to the parents on the progress of their child and what we manage to achieve in that lesson.
            Keeping Up with Curriculum
At the start of the calendar year, I will refer to the MOE website to extract out the syllabuses taught in school and also request for a copy of the student's own school curriculum in the first few lessons so that the lessons I plan will synchronise with what was taught in school.

              Rapport Building
I manually curate past year papers across different schools to identify and spot questions to create my own notes for my students.

In general, most of my students either score As, or have improved by at least 3 grades. In addition, I help my students with other important academic areas such as preparing for JC/Poly DSA interviews, building their own portfolio and resume, and even internship applications. So far, all of my students have been accepted into the courses/internships that they want to pursue in JC/Poly.

I hold a Master's Degree in Computer Science from NUS, with my thesis in the field of Artificial Intelligence. I also hold a Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Computer Engineering from NUS, where I have received numerous scholarships and awards such as being on the Dean's List and a postgraduate scholarship.

I am a fresh JC graduate, so I am still very familiar with the O and A Levels syllabus. Additionally, with prior learning experience in IP, I can offer tips that can help in smoother transition into JC life. Furthermore, with 3 younger brothers studying in Y2, Y4, JC2 this year, I have convenient access to school notes and updated SEAB syllabus.
