As someone who has had 8 years of experience working in the Education industry, I am very familiar with the concerns that parents have when choosing someone to guide their children in their duties. I am determined to help the students not only gain new understanding of their subjects, but also to build their confidence so that they do not suffer from test anxiety or poor time management.
Keeping Up with Curriculum
Most of my students come to me low grades (AL7 and below). Within 6 months, I am able to help them to pull their grades up to AL6 and above. Most importantly, they are able to identify the mistakes they made in the past and explain why it is wrong. They will be able to understand their previous misconceptions clearly and not repeat these mistakes. This will help them to consistently prepare for the PSLE examinations, as they are not just memorising answers and forgetting them within days.
As a Good Tutor
I am a passionate English and Mathematics Teacher who loves to see my students find joy in learning. During my lessons, I connect with my students through humour and personal experiences. After getting my students to share about their struggles with the subjects, I identify their areas of weakness and tailor my teaching strategy so that I can close their learning gaps. I focus on empowering my students so that they not only gain the knowledge, but also the confidence to do well in their studies.

      I have always been able to maintain a proffessional yet fun environment for my student, balancing the need for rest and work very well given the specific students attention span. Also, parents will have knowledge of how I go about conducting my lessons and the progress of their child, they will always be kept in the loop of their child's progress. All this being said, my main aim is to first motivate the student and ensure he/she gets the most out of me. Having taught students of a young age, I know how they behave and how I should better conduct my lessons so they learn the most out of the sessions.
      Keeping Up with Curriculum
      The syllabus are always changing, but with exams, the questions always fall back on the core fundamentals of the topic, so I believe as long as there is a solid foundation set by me when I teach the students, only minor tweaks are needed to ensure he/she does well in the subject I am teaching.
      As a Good Tutor
      patience and targeting the necessary loopholes in the students understanding of concepts is crucial. As well as ensuring the parent-tutor relationship is open and should there be any enquiries on either ends, it will be promptly addressed. Also, having a good tutor-tutee relationship is also crucial as that is the main reason why I am giving tuition, which is the ensure the best is being given to my student and that he/she excels in all that he/she does.

              I am writing to compliment miss lydia lim. She is a math teacher that you had arranged to teach my daughter who is now in sec 3.
              Miss lydia have been teaching my daughter since she is in sec 1. She is a vry dedicated teacher, and my daughter like her. Since then she is doing vry well in her studies. She had been scoring A1 since sec 1 and 2 for her mathametics.

              Hi ace tutor, Thks for recommending ms Lim for my Sec 1 Daughter. She is a very patient and dedicated tutor. And she did indeed help my Daughter in her math. And she scored A2 for her sa1 this term.

              Mdm Lim (17750) is a patient and experienced tutor. She revises past Math concepts that my son needs more explanation and work in. At the end of the lesson she also gives feedback on my son's learning.
