              I will discuss with the parent first about mutual expectations, and then talk to the student to understand what he or she is like, in terms of their attitude and behaviour.
              Keeping Up with Curriculum
              SEAB releases the tested curriculum on their website every year, and I will check to make sure what I teach follows those fundamental topics. Furthermore, schools tend to go at their own pace, so I will need to have a look at what the student has already been taught, and what else they have yet to learn.
              As a Good Tutor
              When I tutor, I will try to get to know the student better during the first few sessions, and get a grasp of what areas he or she needs to improve on, and cater more time to those areas. It may not always be a topic that the student is weak in, but it could be a habit, or learning attitude. I believe in the importance of mastering fundamentals, regardless of subject, and will ensure the student understands before moving on to another major topic. Fundamentals allow the student to progress further with confidence, and so he or she will not feel overwhelmed by new topics, or challenging questions. I will have occasional quizzes to have a gauge of his or her standard. I am very patient, and will go at the student's pace.
